Just found out merlins portal is in new hands holy god mother of all. I see merlin appears to be semi active but i can't help feeling there goes a great site on the downward slope. Always like the guy and reminded me of marmite either love it or hate it but everyone knew he was the driving force over there. Be interesting to see the path the new guys take.

I was looking for some stuff the other day and went to take a look over there, apparently is now a "donate" for full access kinda site. I remember that Merlin said a long time ago that the site was gonna be full featured free forever.

Just checked out your claims and there is no donation whatsoever over there and second really can you expect merlin to be responsible for a site he no longer owns and any changes and as far as i can see it is fully feature. You want to try an take your blinkers of when on sites instead of posting untruths and mileading usenet users.

He's an idiot for posting the truth? And I never saw him complain, only state facts. I've been a member there for a while myself, and I also remember Merlin stating that the site would always be free. You shouldn't make promises that you can't keep, simple as that. And plenty of other sites cover their costs without resorting to charging their members to access certain parts of their forums...The very forum we are discussing this on right now comes to mind.

No need to apologize. Everyone has their own opinions. I just took exception to you calling Broly an idiot for posting something that was correct not that long ago.

And you were not wrong in that, at present, the site is not charging for access to the forums...But just a short while back, while Merlin was still there, they were charging for full site access (Parts of the NZB section) & Merlin did say that he would never do that.

That is the main reason I quit using the site. Now that they stopped doing it, I might start using it again occasionally.
