More than likly a fake unless you know it isn't try another player like B.S.Player .
sometimes mp3s are a bit differnt ive had thsi problem before and it played in winamp so I re converted it with dbpoweramp adn it was fine no it didnt fuck up the quality
I always use RealOne player to play mp3's.
Maybe you should try it too.You always get additional info on the artist and album in the screen while playing.
Steal some working music next time.

Peace brotherdoobie
switch to winamp and be amazed, esp if you get a good dsp plug-in like the enhancer
