The only way that I was able to "del the undel..."

Open a dos prompt and cd to your shared folder
then use the del <name.ext> for the file- ALWAYS WORKS IN DOS

A trick that has always worked so far for me when I try to delete a file and get the message that it is in use by another application is to create a new file eg. right click in the folder that the file to be deleted is stored, select 'New' and select 'Text document' or similar. Then save the txt file as whatever name you like, don't type anything into notepad or whatever you use to create the file & it will appear as a 0Kb file. Then select this 0Kb file first & with Ctrl held down, select the file you want to delete. You should find that they will now be deletable as a pair.
