manker: The days that scene content was uploaded by persons who got the files from usenet are long gone. It's not humans, it's scripts who upload scene content. The whole process is automated and the files come directly from scene sites.

There's no manual work involved, that's why it's so ineffective to let thousand users run a process that can be done once by a script in a matter of seconds. The combined HD Space that can be saved by millions of users is huge if all torrent sites dump rars. That's literally millions of dollars that can be saved.

Not exactly a Pro becouse if every tracker start to upload Unrar Files they to can be used for Racing and Cross-seeding
It's hard to find pros at all.

Con: Rar files are hardly archived by the common user but deleted. Unpacked content is more likely to be kept and seeded and therefore offers better torrent retention

Oh, well that's fair enough then :]

It annoys the pish out of me when I have to seed the .rar files of a HD movie, for example, and then unrar it to watch the thing - but I'd never complained about it because I imagined it was a group of hard working people who were providing me with stuff to watch.

It's an idiotic policy though, it could just as easily be shared as the video file, but some trackers just insist on redundancy.

A couple weeks ago my girl asked me to plop a steaming dump on her chest during sex(not even kidding). That threw me for a loop... I haven't talked to her since. Thinking about calling her up and telling her I'm down with it though... I mean, I've always thought of females as a toilet. Might as well treat them like one...

there are ways to watch a movie straight from the rars, even if they're compressed and passworded

That's the thing though, who wants to be forced into a single playback option? All my viewing goes through XBMC.

Ah, I'd better leave the HD talk to those who know. I just watch SD movies in my laptop...

Yeah. I know I can do it with vlc but I don't use that to watch HD stuff on the big telly.
