I would like to know if there is a way to delete things from the startup menu? Not just uncheck them so the will not start up on reboot but delete them and take them off the list completely.

Changed SPAN settings in sig a YEAR after it was removed
right click on them and delete?

You can stop some of the programs by deleting the line from the win.ini file
