    I downloaded SABnzbd
    I ran through virustotal.com
    All clean
    I installed

    I ran
My antivirus reports that the program has suspicious behaviour
    Any comments would be great

ALSO, I didn't realise it would run through my browser
I see that it sets itself up as its own server?
Is there any danger my PC could be used for hosting dodgy websites or something?
    Am I being too cautious?

    Thanks

    OM

It's only locally via intranet, much like your router's setting page. You could set it up to be accessed externally if you were ever so desperate to manage things while you're away from home.

I have nothing to add about your AV issues.

Please elaborate on this "suspicious behavior" your antivirus reports.

By default, SABnzbd binds to the localhost adapter, which means the web interface may only be accessed by the computer it runs on.

I'd say that was a false positive. There are a few other reports on google about this.

The other points you raise don't seem to be anything to worry about. Read around on their forums if you are still worried - there are lots of unique users of this program, which is generally a good indication of its trustworthiness.

    This.

If you got your SABnzbd from the official web site, you're safe.
