I find tweaknews has some slowdowns during the day (US time). After about 9pm PST it'll max out my line (~3.4MB/sec) but during the day I'll get anywhere from 1.2-1.8MB/sec.

tweaknews works well for me. Rarely incomplete files particularly for anything only a few days old but the hit miss ratio goes up the older the file is.
Tweaknews is inconsistent. I was subscribed to their 10Mbit connection and went through a prolonged period of sub-standard speeds (averaging less than half the maximum speed), I then decided to take the plunge and give their 50Mbit service a go once I upgraded to BT Infinity & everything was fine for the first three months, but now I'm back down to less than 5Mbit speeds when I can actually connect to their servers (which is half the time).
If solid speeds & good retention are more important to you than the speed of DNS takedowns, then my recommendation is to give Supernews a go, IIRC they use the Giganews servers.

Anyone tried the newsleecher usenet server ?
I'm wondering how they are with takedowns
They resell UNS/Highwinds. Meh. I like their newsreader though.
Edit: Speaking of HW, reddit mentioned a Newsdemon promotion: 5USD/mo. "unlimited" Maybe that's more your speed? Not sure how long that runs for, or if you can click on FST's ad and then enter the promo code?

I could say but don't want to risk it. Sorry. Will give you a hint though it can be found on the internet. Just give me content that is DMCA on your end with what your searching for or the NZB and I will be able to download it.
Newsleecher usenet server sucks.
thanks to all for the feedback thus far, very helpful and informative for me making my next usenet provider of choice.
thanks for the usenet info. been a while since i've used these but never had any issues finding most things over usenet.
