Thread: Issue: DMCA? Astraweb? Bad post?

  1. #1

    Question Mark

    Hi,

Can someone help me clarify an issue I'm having with a specific post? It's incomplete and impossible to repair.
I can't figure out if this was a DMCA takedown, an Astraweb issue, or if it's just a bad post (incomplete on all providers).

You can find the post by searching for "131770" on any indexer.

Please, keep in mind that I know how to repair/rename this kind of posts, but in this case there are not enough blocks available.

    Thanks in advance

In this particular case it's AW's problem.
They have certain gaps in retention due to some, i guess, failures on their side.

This release is heavily damaged on the EU server and to a lesser extent on US server.
I suggest that you get a backup block account

The 430s that I've seen as a result of takedowns often say as much with "DMCA Removed" in the log. That doesn't appear to be the case in this instance. Like Hypatia said, NZBcc shows quite a lot of broken bits.

Edit: Hypatia beat me to it.

Did you get the two other sets of pars that are available?

Edit: actually the post is fine on a non-astra provider, I just got it with no missing parts or repair required.

That's what I suspected. I've seen cases like this before, but wasn't sure of the cause.
What is the recommended provider for backup accounts? Please, note that I live in Europe.
And shouldn't I just change provider instead of staying with Astraweb, since I never heard about other providers having these "gaps"?

The other par's were for the sample and proof.
You managed to get it with Astraweb?!

More Euro-Trash (not following posting rules) that is being properly lined-out as spam. The fact that other operations are not deleting it en-masse (or that Astra isn't deleting it totally which is what would happen if indeed it was DMCA'd) is simply an error on the part of those other operations.

All these 'mini-postings' (thousands of very small parts trying to masquerade to run 'under the radar') appears to be folks with nothing better to do than flood unsnet with spam and Astra auto-delete is trying to deal with them properly.

Hopefully at some point all the operators will wake up to all of this and start deleting it when it comes in, either by posting or by peering.

I don't know why but my post wasn't showing up here.

With what provider did you check?

    Which provider did you use?

This is not spam. All x264 scene releases are now posted this way.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the post either. Am I missing a rule?

Rather ironically I don't share that info.

I feel like not sharing is undermining the premise of fst and all its users, but, I'm not sharing either.

tweaknews / hitnews if you want to beat dmca for max 24h after post
astraweb+blocknews is good enough to download everything if you use sickbeard & etc

not reccommennded: anything from highwinds, giganews,or xsnews they are faster on the gun than astra.
