Suppose, I am filtered on the internet? The only way to access anything on a connection, I have to enter a Username and Password. Kazaa is always blocked out. How would I allow it to access the internet?

Hmm.
Suppose you spent more than 10 seconds explaining what the hell you are talking about. Then people would be able to understand you.

Spoken on behalf of hundreds!
if your font size is this small i'll add you to my ignore list because you're wasting my time, OK?
haha
ok I was really vague
I have a school webfilter thing called ninaa. It requires you to enter a password to access the net. Not only that, but it stops all access with p2p, chat, etc. The username and password you enter will bwe crap coz you will only access sites that are set on the filter, which is different for each class of usernames. Anyways, I wanna use kazaa, but the filter stops me from gaining access. It doesn't even ask for a password. Is there anything I can use to be able to download files using kazaa? Also, if possible, access certain websites. NOT PORN. Some sites, that are crucial for my work are blocked also. I am telling the honest truth. So can someone help, or have you all fallen asleep listening to me babble?

i dunno how, but school networks usually know when, where and who does what on the network, it is not safe, you will get caught
hell no, I know I won't get caught, thats for sure, the admins are so slow at realing somethings up. I know the topic bout school filters are getting boring, but I need help. It's just stupid the things that are filtered.

i doubt kazaa will work and if it does they will spot it in a heart beat. but you can easily view whatever content you want by going through a proxy.
there are plenty of pretty good cgi proxies out there
http://www.anonymizer.com/ for a start
or a better one would be
http://www.jmarshall.com/tools/cgiproxy/ it is kinda hard to setup and you need webspace with perl so it might be kinda difficult.
thanks man
now for PORN!!
just kiddin

Well, since you don't know what a router is, i don't think it's a good idea that you try to mess with your school network. I also think that there is a very good chance you would get caught, regardless of what you say.Originally posted by 99shassan@20 November 2003 - 22:18

Probably a good idea that you work while you're at school anyway.
