Thread: What The Hell?

    I was over at someones house the other day and we were talking about computers and stuff. I was telling them how I got XP Professional and he said he doesn't mess with that stuff cuz microsoft takes a screenshot of your entire computer when you boot up. Is this true because if it is we need to find a way to disable this!

    I think you&#39;re confusing screenshot with "snapshot". Most systems do a snapshot of some sort at different times. It&#39;s basically just a software/hardware configuration image. Not as in a picture image, but a data image.
    I&#39;m not sure it&#39;s sent when you boot XP but it is sent when you register. Or for some upgrades.

    Yeah, if you go onto "system restore" you will see what snapshots it has made to date. Ususally makes one when you install a program.
