    In an attempt to keep it confined to things in about the range of quality and cultural significance as that mentioned above, I'm going to say:

    Ghettoblaster (1996)

    or

    Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)

    or

    Biodome (1996)


    A little known fact is that all of those were also based on a true story. True story.

    By "classic" if you mean epic then I'd go with Titanic too.
