In Australia we don't have tanks in the loft, if we did it would be too hot to drink. Our water comes from the mains.

It is not for drinking water BD. It tops up the toilet, hot water tank etc.

Everyone has them. Even you JP. There is one there to top up you heating system.

No I don't all of the cold water is fed from the mains.

    1. I have been in my loft many times and would notice it

    2. I worked in the building trade for years and know what they are

    3. If the kids put on the hydrants I don't get any water pressure, upstairs or down. Including the cisterns.

No you will have to install a gravity draining system from your tank to your plants. What the hell are they, mushrooms. No they cant be there is not mushroom in the loft.

Then again it could be an illegal substance with spikey leaves.

Where does the water come from that tops up the radiators and the hot water tank, if you have one. I have never seen radiators or a hot water tank, directly supplied from the mains. If so how is it done?

It might be a new type of pressure reducing valve. But as I say I have not come across one yet.
