This is fine. I'll just use my PC, or if I really want it on an HDTV, my HTPC. Like hell I'm going to buy their shit media player if they pull this shit.
Also if they think I'm going to pay extra money for some bullshit 4k resolution video when I can just get it at 1080p from netflix (assuming we're talking about staying legal here), they're delusional.
my tv has All-Share, I can just dl a HD 3D movie and put it on a usb flash drive then pop it in the usb port on the tv and watch my movies that way. I almost never use my PS3 any more, it just sits next to my direct tv box collecting dust.

You know, I've had a Sony player for several years because it supports DLNA streaming from my network server. No problems there. The other day, I tried to connect it up to my wife's Amazon Prime account and the stream was really bad - low resolution - and this is on a service we paid for. Made my decision right there and ordered an android tv box on Prime Day. Haven't turned the Sony on since then.
