    I've been using my PC since the end of 2004, AMD3400+ 64 bit, gig of ram and a Geforce6800Ultra (AGP on an ASUS K8N-E AGP board). I keep it in tip-top shape and have seen it get an extraordinary excellent score in PC Performance tests.

    I only play my games at 1024X768 because I have a small monitor, but I like playing with high detail. The last game I played was FEAR which ran perfectly with these settings.

    I'm going to get Hitman 4, can I expect the game to run well?

    Sigh...I remember when I got this PC it was the best available dealers were flabbergasted that I wanted a 6800Ultra.

    (I generally don't upgrade, just splurge on a whole new rig every couple of years)

    Who you trying to kid around here? of course it can run current games well, you should be able to play H4 on high setting (not on ultra high)...

    The recommended system requirements:
    * Microsoft Windows 2000/ Microsoft Windows XP (admin rights required) 95/98/ME/NT not supported.
    * Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Athlon XP/64bit Equivalent
    * 1GB system Memory
    * ATI X800 series, nVidia GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card
    * Direct X compatible sound card
    * DVD-ROM drive
    * 5GB space
    * INPUT DEVICES:Keyboard and 3 button mouse

    It seems that tech has advanced a shitload since then, though. We're on Geforce 7950s now? and SLI? :S

    Do current games really not need current tech to run well?

    No. Just play the games, it'll play fine. Don't spend an extra £1000 just to get an extra 1fps.

    Your fine BECAUSE of your choice of graphics card. I just bought my rig this year and it is not much faster than yours. The only thing that might be a prob is Crysis. But, I heard that it will be possible to play with DirectX9....
    AMD Venice 64 3800/ASUS A8N-E, 1.24 GB RAM(2x512 Kingston), NVIDIA GeForce 6800/GT 256MB

    Hmmm, so I'm playing Hitman...Just installed it now so I'm on the training mission, mouse sensitivity is up quite high and the game seems to be running...not slow, or choppily, just not as smoothly as other games I've played where moving the mouse quickly around spins the view superfast...Is this just how the game is? Because there's no difference between view speed compared to low or high settings, it's like as fast as the game-view would move if I were playing it on a console and using an analogue stick.
