Thread: Building My First Machine..

  1. #1
Well Im going to build a machine. I have to do this over a period of time because of money. Not enough of it as always... This is to be used for gaming music and web surfing. I have been thinking of getting into some video as well.
I want something that I can upgrade over time and also run the lastest software.

This is what I was looking at for a motherboard.

Please tell me if you have any better ideas or suggestions...

Between now and the end of the year new video cards from both manufacturers will be released onto the market.

This usually drops the price of all vid cards currently on the market that are equal to or bellow the tier of the new cards released.

Thats a REALLY exspensive mobo, and an athlon 64 will also cost alot. If your conserned about budget then how the hell do you even look at that? Go with Kunals setup, thats what im getting after xmas.

Boy Riccochet, that looks like one bitchin' board!

Money must not be that big an issue.

The AMD 64's that I've seen (CompUSA) are $600 (probably available for less, but even so...) and the proper memory ain't gonna be cheap, either.

But, you get that baby built and you will have one BigDawg PC.

    Keep us posted, please.

IMO, it's not time to build 64bit. It's just too new. Let the prices drop and let them work out the problems with 64bit before buying it.

For the time being go with 32bit. It's reliable, fast and way less expensive.

Sometimes the voice of reason is such a bummer.

    VB is probably right.

I say f*ck it, go for it.

Someone has to be first, or prices won't drop and we'll never know if it's better.
Isn't the 64 bit version of Windows supposed to be released in Jan./Feb.?
