I am more amazed how The Way Way Back is in every list. It is the most clichéd and the most boring movie of 2013.

Don't know about being too young. I think, I dismiss any movie with no originality or good acting/story these days. I avoid mainstream movies like the plague unless it is action/thriller. It seems all the good stuff is happening in TV.Probably because you're too young to understand nostalgia.Also basically every mainstream movie is driven by cliches.The good ones rise above them ,the bad ones tend to wallow in them.

I Googled AVClub Best Films of 2013 and it redirected me to Pretentious Bullshit.
True Story.
In other related but likewise uninteresting news , I was reading reviews for Upstream Color on IMDB and one guy said his girlfriend refused to watch anything but "Indie" films.
Aby you and she should get together and create little equally narrow-minded Nazi babies and have one of these so called artistes film the whole process,intercut it with black and white scenes of flowers wilting and a static shot of some unknown guy banging his head against a wall,add on some needlessly sombre 2 note background music and label the whole thing Art.
Do it all in a foreign language so you can add subtitles or better yet without dialogue or discernible plot and then end it suddenly without any resolution.Presto bingo you now have yourself some AVClub fanboys.
PS Want real Art? Something that resonates emotionally but still makes you think as opposed to leaving you confused but afraid to admit that you just subjected yourself to utter shit and wasted 90 minutes of your life because some pasty idiot that in real life you would probably run from might label you dumb?
