Far too much responsibility for me, anyways, I'm already popular!

Yeah, I can appreciate that. Even without being spied on, just announcing to the world you hang out in a place whose topic categorized as file sharing.

Didn't realise I could ad fb. Not sure if I would but i'll have a look
Facebook seems pretty incompatible with a community that sits on the margins of illegality like this one.
Just think how hard it would be to pirate anything if the internet were run more like Facebook: real name required for access, constantly nagging for passwords for other services, enthusiastic cooperation with law enforcement.
Why is FST promoting it by having integration?
Apart from all of that it seems to be encouraging people to do something dangerous in linking their real and alt names (as we've seen in this thread...)
That's true. But,
1) it is always wise to check if your own government doesn't have a Law on mutual legal assistance with (in this case) the US. Where the mutual legal assistance includes extradition of defendants or convicted persons.
2) there is always a small chance that the "service of process via social media", is done in a less discreet manner than by (from linked article) Facebook PM, last known email addresses, FedEx, and through process servers (usually a bailiff or similar). E.g. think of an (accidental) "reminder" to "read the legal documents concerning court ruling ABCD which you received via ABC, GHJ, and XYZ", is posted to your wall/timeline by the FTC/FBI or WHY.

I agree. I refuse to use FB service under any circumstances whatsoever. Social media is a big no for anyone taking their privacy seriously.
This should be reviewed and reconsidered in my opinion. There's plenty of data out on the net that explains the evils and pitfalls of social media services such as Facebook.
Agree with kinoob. I noticed Rdio started it as well. I was use a separate login for each service.
