Among other things Overlord equates to having downloaded/uploaded at least 100 TB total. Remember this is a TV tracker where even HD file sizes tend to be smaller and even with all the shit shows on specialty channels there is only so much poop to be had.
So I'd like to amend my previous statement to clinically insane,possessing a better internet connection than most people and not being afraid to use it to deprive other people of their fair share of bandwidth.

Either that or they could just give out the occasional invite to those that have proven by their actions to be fairly decent,responsible people.

I know this sort of logic runs counter to the usual BT thinking of rewarding only the infantile and Romanians but hey maybe run it up the flagpole and see if anyone or the age of consent salutes.

to be fair there are still 5 classes that DO have unlimited invites, excluding staffs.

don't mind the fact that there are recruitment threads in several common sites. be PU+ (or whatever) in one of those sites and get an invite

overlords also need to have ridiculous amount of seedtime and snatches....as a result there are less than a only dozen of them. if someone has enough time/resource to contribute to the site in that magnitude, they can have all the invites for all i care.

btn is ratio free so not being able to compete with seedboxes isn't really an issue. but that doesn't hold true for btn to begin with. this is one of the easiest sites to seed at. even from my shitty home connection, i manage to upload some.

As for "not competing with seedboxes" ,I think that's untrue as with torrent clients the fastest speeds are always going to monopolize the majority of bandwidth. That's basically how they work.Even if they didn't the fact that files are transferred so fast likely means that most people not using seedboxes are only able to upload very little before the initial frenzy peters out and you're left with whatever dregs remain.
So in systems like BTN that give out rewards almost entirely by upload/download,you my friend as the saying goes are forever shit out of luck.

Again this is a bias based primarily on geography and economics so sort of wank in a protocol(filesharing) that utilizes words like "fairness' and "equality" in it's mission statement.

See it's not so much the part abut some people being dicks,what I struggle with is the people being dicks and trying to make you believe it otherwise.

i didn't directly say you don't have to compete with seedboxers. all i'm saying is, you can still upload fair amount from home net and seedboxers don't really get much out of it in a ratio free site. if you want to stat whore on a ratio free site then i'm totally cool with that. i'm not gonna complain for being able to download everything at max speed.

i suppose that is a matter of perspective. you're looking at why they are doing it while i'm looking at what they are doing. i don't care if they just got loose from arkham asylum or if they are bill gate's alt account. the fact that they are making a huge contribution to the site is good enough for me. 100 TB UP/DN (along with hilarious amount of snatches, points, etc). i probably got a few MBs off them so i'm thankful for that.

i could careless about that, particularly in a ratio free site. i was in FTN for 7 years or whatever and i only got one single invite in that entire period and the time i did get it was from donating. FTN, unlike BTN, was really hard to get any upload from my home connection. regardless, it was my most used site for as long as it existed. they uploaded whole bunch of stuff on time, it was ratio free, it went went as far as to not require a minimum seedtime....and that was good enough for me.

now there are some sites where seedboxers need to be put on check. i hear HDbits does a good job at that.
