Error Message Generic Host Win32 Services

I haev just loaded a copy of Cubase SX onto my PC and am now getting the Error message

Generic host process for WIn32 Services.

The detials state that the is problem with files

svchost.exe.mdmp and
appcompat.txt


I can not find the second file when i do a search but find three copies of the first file in various locations.

I am running win XP. Any help would be appreciated.

svchost.exe = a virus I think unless this is in task manager that you're seeing it. Search the forum for that name. Did the system reboot after install? That would be an almost sure sign that a virus had installed.

He's talking about svchost.exe.mdmp. Notice the extension.

Unless that's a product of a crash and memory dump, I don't know what else it could be.

where else could u be??? hmmmm....

jump to your telus( ) home page and look it up. I thought for sure WA and 98231 would be a dead giveaway
