TV/monitor Aspect RATIO preference?

21:9 vs 16:9

I'm trying to decide if an ultra-wide 34" 21:9 monitor is worth it? I am not looking to spend a lot so, the lowest they go is about $400. Or I could just get a 43" 16:9 hdtv for only $300. Although its mainly for PC gaming and other PC use, I don't think a bigger screen is not necessarily better. So, I am having a tough time deciding. I don't think going above 1080 resolution is really worth it for me right now as my PC isn't that great yet, if I were to get 4K i would want it very large(mainly just for movies). I don't really want a big TV for gaming, but it feels dumb paying an extra $100 for a smaller screen lol. Plus, I've read not all games support 21:9 and many requires "fixes" or patches which sounds a bit annoying. I also occasionally play console games, like xbox360 ps4 or nx, so again those don't support 21:9. Also, how important is 75hz vs 120hz? Or how about projector screens? What do you prefer?
