Can anyone tell me an easy way to convert AVi files to VCD and DVD so that i can play them in my ordinary DVD player. Presumably there is some software out there. Any recommendations

    thanks

Use TMPGENC for VCD. You can convert using this software easily and then burn it using nero.

You can use TMPGENC for creating DVD's to, but it creates separate video and audio files, which you must multiplex using some other software. It is easier to use something like Sonic MyDVD or NeoDVD.

do like he said, i haven't found a dvd player playing vcd's that won't play kvcd's
kvcd has been around for a good long time so it's a no-brainer, also mvcd is just as good
