The current administration is not the same as "This Country", and if you don't understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism then we really don't need to continue this conversation. Being patriotic does not mean unquestioningly accepting everything the asshole in the White House does. There a difference between criticizing people and policies and criticizing the country. This is not North Korea with a Dear Leader cult, at least not outside the Republican party. There's plenty of good in this country, but it's not because of Donald does, but despite him and his efforts to destabilize society for the last four years.

And if you want to know just one thing that has changed for me it's this: Thanks to the neverending efforts by the Republicans and the President* to destabilize the health insurance system/market, my monthly healthcare premium has gone up from $800 for my family in 2015 to $1,700 today. With fewer providers in the market and fewer services I am getting for my money. It's basically impossible to sign up for a PPO-type plan unless you are covered by an employer-sponsored policy. It is fun having the health care debate with Cabby, he is a really smart guy but still has troubles how Government works, and that is either side, and his math is still 1+1=11...

I wish i could tell some of the stories about my stay and taking care of my wife in the Hospital...

I will tell you that i never left her side there,(4 weeks) i slept in a old reclining chair, my kids brought me clothes and basically ate pizza and sandwiches, and lots of coffee.. And being put on a floor with Dementia patients and my wife being the age of a grand child (exaggerating for effect) compared to the patients in the ward, and at night all the screaming and yelling and them wandering out of there beds and the bed alarms blaring, while the nurses where watching netflix on there phones in the station!!!, yup it was defiantly interesting..

Even the Rehab centre she was sent to for 4 weeks after, now that was even more interesting!!!

She had 3 hrs of different therapies , the rest of the time you sat there and fucked the dog!!!! It was a real motivator for the patients there i can tell you, and the ratio was 8 patients to one nurse!!! After dinner bathroom time was fun for people with no care givers

I was fortunate that I had good insurance at the time of my surgery. If we had the insurance I have now, we'd been stuck with $40k. As it stands, my wife told me a couple days ago that we are down to the last $240 for *everything*.


My rehab was $50k for the week. Looking back, I was kinda high as fuck. Morphine, Oxys, antianxiety meds. They literally asked me what I wanted. With a surgery like that, I guess they expect you're screwed up permanently-- why not let him relax this last 40 years of his life?

After the mix of drugs I had requested landed me back in the hospital, turns out I was the middle-of-the-night menace. I snored LOUDLY from what I later found out. I decided that the IVs and oxygen mask on my face were unnecessary after I discovered I was where I didn't really want to be. I was trying to figure out how to walk(?) IDK...but I had decided I didn't want to be there. Then...I kinda came to once the narcotics loosened my bowels. A group of nurses had to bring in some sort of porta toilet because I really wasn't mobile.

For all of the reasons mentioned above-- my roommate apparently didn't like me much.

The rest of my stay, I had a spacious room *all* to myself...

With all of that i am really glad you are ok, walking, working, and you have family support (wife and kiddies), all of that Meg is a real blessing...

So we talk about costs, where they come up with figures really puzzles me the same it is not like you have your own private nurse!! you have to share them with many, the beds are not that comfy, and the cost of the tv is a fucking fortune, not even adding internet extra costs...

And funny my snoring didn't make me any friends in my stays or with my wife, we got that in common buddy..And on the positive everyone would like you off the meds, like i said they do funny things to all of us, and for sure they make us unbearable pricks

The pain meds thing really i always find dangerous Meg, even with all the pain you had or the pain i had, your have a really good point it changes you, and sometimes not always for the good. The real test is to ween off and get back to normal, that is the toughest, at least it was the first time for me....

To finish and not trying to compare or up you, but your potty thing was good, but when i was in for day surgery and having a stone removed, the surgery was supposed to be about an hour or so, 3hrs later and i find out later my wife is having a shit!!!!, I finally was wheeled back to the recovery area i come too, and fuck i had to take a wicked piss!!, so they hand me a jug, and i say fuck that shit!!! I pull off the blankets and the bed is full of blood, i didn't freak out or nothing, so one of the orderly's tried to stop me, i said help or get lost!!! I put down the bed rail myself and start getting out of bed, and it looked like i was walking straight, or maybe it was the orderly keeping me that way, and all this time my wife was quiet and didn't say a word, knowing she would have gotten blasted!!! So the bathroom was maybe 50ft from my bed, and finally got there and go in pull up the gown and literally painted the whole bathroom red with blood and slight hint of yellow piss, but fuck did it feel good and hurt like fuck at the same time!!!!! After that they closed the bathroom for maintenance, and walked me back to the bed and gave me another dose of pain meds..
Now another nurse comes in to the area with some sort of gadget, and i had no idea what she wanted me to do with it.. So... When i was in the surgery room and they finally knocked me out my breathing and snoring was so bad they were nervous and were going to wake me up and postpone the surgery, and funny i woke up while hi had the tool up my pecker , and they hit me again with more knock out drugs..So going back to the thing.. It was a breathing tool and it had a ball in it and i was supposed to blow in and out and make sure the ball hits the top, i tried it once and i told them to stick it!!!! I am fine get lost!!!..

I know you had an interesting stay at your hospital, that was one of mine.....

Edit: Maybe i didn't end that right, they did force me to bring that gadget home, and a couple of weeks ago i was cleaning a corner in my bedroom and i found it, i blew into it for shits and giggles and then took it to my garage and threw it in a recycle blue bin. Now while i am typing this post, i am thinking how much did it cost the hospital to pay for that thing that was really never used??

But in my situation, and the area that was being used for viewing, my insides, i am thinking a woody would not have been a good idea..

And truthfully there wasn't one that was worth a divorce situation, and my wife is not like Hillary Clinton, she doesn't like to watch
