About twenty years ago I found myself picking a lock for a friend who'd lost the key to his hunting camp.
I thought I felt something pulling on my right pant-leg, but couldn't look at the precise moment I felt it - before I could do anything else, there were four baby raccoons hanging from my jacket, nuzzling my hair and beard.
There's nothing on earth as cute as a baby 'coon, but then it occurred to me mama raccoon was gonna attack me momentarily.
It didn't happen; I looked around and found her dead under the porch I was standing on, and my DNR buddy told me I had to give the babies over to the local animal control guy to be "dealt with".
I'd love to have kept the little buggers.
