I almost replied to the first part with a soliloquy about how I always did the hunting down thing after a relationship ended. Every time.
I didn't though and here's another of those annoying stage scenes:

mary: This is what I do when a relationship ends [tells story].
manker: fuck that, here's what I do when a relationship ends [tells story].
mary <thinks>: Who gives a fuck what you do, this was supposed to be about me right now, not you a hundred years ago.
manker <thinks>: hmmz, she's silent, must want me to expound.
manker: There was this one girl ... .
mary <thinks>: I'm going to stab this guy in the fucking face at next summer's FST get-together.
That's not an annoying stage scene, it's a minute, n'est ce pas.
How the fuck would I know, I'm not a poet nor a homosexual.
    Tautology above.

I don't like the word "nor", it's always struck me as a bit ostentatious.

To be fair ostentatious is also a bit ostentatious.

A Swede once PM'd me saying that he knew I was rodding but would I mind awfully using 'nor' rather than 'or' when appropriate because it was doing his swede in.
I wouldn't mind but I didn't even realise I was doing anything wrong.

    True, but paraphrased, Story.

Foreigners seem to be taught English grammar more effectively than some natives. Mrs.Spanish Something Else introduced me to phrasal verbs the other day. Having looked in to them, it appears that the English language, by its design and nature, could be intended to have the dual effect of the better and broader vocabulary used, the more insulted the other party feels.

Conversely, it could well be said that the wider the vocabulary, the more accurate a thought could be expressed in words, which, in the most part, are not sufficient to express our exact meanings.

I once read a ruling from a Tribunal in which the Judge used the term "historic present tense"

    I though it was divine.

    Translatio temporum as it were.

I suppose that eyewitness accounts are always given in court using the historic present tense.
I was also writing something something about the narrative something, when I decided to google "Translatio temporum" because I didn't know what it meant.
