Thread: Can Quicktime Alternative Play Mp4 Movie Files?

    I downloaded an mp4 movie file, tried to play it in QTA and it won't work. I'm now downloading QuickTime, which is something I didn't wanna have to do

    HELP!

    Media Player Classic, the core component of Quicktime Alternative AND Real Player Alternative can play MP4 movie files *IF* you have the proper MP4 codecs loaded.

    mp4? wow? is it better quality - tell me

    is it just videos or also music?

    It's both video and music! Quality-wise, I can tell no difference between this and any other format, it works fine but the vid is low quality anyway. I downloaded Quicktime Pro 6.3 in the end, btw... Quicktime Alternative is off my system now, regular Quicktime does the job just fine, in fact it's very nice.

    Switeck -- and what are the correct codecs to use, in case I ever did wanna use QTA/Media Player Classic?
