Thread: Silent Computer!

  1. #1
Here's fairly cheap way to shut your computer up. I think I'm gonna try that out. Or does anyone have a better solution or experience in making it less noisy??

    German version:
    http://www.carsten-buschmann.de/schallschutz/index.htm
    http://www.carsten-buschmann.de/schallschutz/bild1.htm

English version: (thx v Virus v / Bender)
    http://www.carsten-buschmann.de/nois...tion/index.htm
    http://www.carsten-buschmann.de/noise-prot...on/picture1.htm

there's a plan on how to do it as well. B)

there's a plan on how to do it as well. Unfortunatelly it's in german. (for all you guys don't understanding it)
But you sould get the general impression. B)
Both URL's are in German, as you said.
But on the top right of those pages is a little English flag, guess what that does...

Not a good idea imo. The more you restrict the airflow the hotter your PC will run.

that's exactelly the week point of it Nobody1234.

This guy was using a P-II 400 and the temperature didn't raise more that 10° C.
Well, I guess with a P-4 1900 things will look different....
Maybe a bigger fan would do.

Does anybody knows how to measure the CPU temperature and is there some kind of security-system installed to prevent overheating?

Bah, might as well put a fur coat on my PC. Sure the noise will be gone but there goes my processor. fugetaboutit! The only true, noiseless computer is watercooled!
Temp monitoring? Your motherboard must have this capability, it will be in the bios. Alot of mass-marketed PCs don't have this capability or even a soft bios. Just using software will get you nowhere. duh!
