A good anti-virus already should scan all files that are created, accessed or modified on your computer.
a good AV will check every downloaded file!
Yes but I don't like the antivirus running in the background in auto-protect mode. I prefer to run it on every downloaded file. If this could be done automatically it would be easier. My download manager alredy got this feature.
I use norton antivirus.
im sure norton, uses a resident scanner, that checks all opened files/modified filesOriginally posted by magilvia@25 November 2003 - 17:21

Yes, BUT in this way every read/create/modify operation would be slowed down. I want to run the antivirus ONCE only on DANGEROUS files (downloaded).
so are you saying that you have disabled the resident scanner in norton? as its enabled by default and everyone would reccomend you have a resident scanner, if your worried about resources, why the hell are you using norton anti-virus! go get avg if its resources your worried aboutOriginally posted by magilvia@25 November 2003 - 17:29
