Meg great news! there’s ample fodder there for you to write a heart-wrenching novel.
At the very least you’ll have tales of battling adversity to share with your grandchildren.
I’ll be getting spinal fusion surgery in September, at which point *fingers crossed* my back pain issues will be resolved, for the most part.

WOW! A great book idea! I can do a living history with adversity as a focal point... (I don't / can't speak much anymore since my strokes.) ...I want the family to know all about my life and how I got to this point.
(I do read and write a lot.)
@ShinShin: Its been about two years since my last spinal surgery... I like you had my *fingers crossed*... Is should have been my toes with 4 toes paralyzed that time... I'm truly a piece of work, but ya get used to it.

My mother had a stroke a few years ago. Luckily for her she is pretty much back to normal. A little weakness sometimes on her left side. She had a hole repaired in her heart afterwards (PFO, same thing Tedy Bruschi had). Hopefully she won't have another. She has changed her diet and gets some exercise. The doctors are thinking about installing a pacemaker soon.
Stehle, good luck with the healing.
If you take a massive overdose of barbiturates, it might well put you into a coma. Then by the time you regain consciousness you'd be cured of the physical addiction.
You might want to give that idea some serious consideration.
