Hey guys I know I've seen some computer cases with the DVD drive on the side instead of the front but for the life of me I can't seem to find them anywhere. Ideas anyone??

I know I read a review for a case that had the side mount for 5.25" slot. Can't think of who made it though. Will take a look around.

    Here is an example...

Seeing Anon's post, and the vintage case?? Who really uses DVD/Blu ray drives?? Really you can buy and external one cheap and connect it to any PC??

    Attachment 181518

Or better yet a standard PC Blu ray Player?? I myself, can't figure out why you would want it on the side?? Be interesting if jorah, actually has a reason why?? Do they make a case that has a side floppy disk mount as well (Geez!! I sound like Idol here!!)

I still have an internal burner (CD/DVD/BDR). I backup stuff to discs and store away for safe keeping. External drives are not the greatest performing. I love my Pioneer BDR-209. I actually bought an ASUS BW-12D1S-U (external USB 3.0 BDR). It uses a Pioneer BDR-209 inside. Allowed me to connect another HST 6TB HDD. It has been great so far.

I understand and that is your thing buddy, but who today wants disks all over the place!!. I remember you would look at a flyer or see advertisement of some sort or storage unit that holds dvd's cd's blu rays, now you have to go to some sort of clearance store to find them. Even the massive wall units always had some sort of dvd storage compartment built in, again now??
For real, if it floats your boat, i got no problem buddy...

I too still have a dvd burners, but in one pc it is not connected, just in the tower, and the other i use it 10 times a year if that, and the same, you would see how many advertised in flyers (internal dvd, blu ray drives), now you occasionally see external ones, even if you didn't like hard drive storage?? what do you see advertised and they have come down big time in price?? multiple hard drive storage's, and if you think about it?? Why is that massed advertised?? I would think that is now the norm for long and short term storage. During my spurt in cleaning i threw out how many floppy drives?? when the heck am i ever going to use those!!!, I threw them out!!!(Left them at a Best Buy electronics return, in the front of the store)..
Even when you buy software today, most of the time the box is empty and you have to go online and download the software and the key is in the box, that's it!!.
It also may have to do with the fact that laptops are getting small, thinner, and more lightweight, Tablets/Ipads?? burners players just don't exist or put into the platform....
Hens the external Blu ray drives that you can use on any machine if you need too. And thinking, my first Plextor DVD drive was like $300, now they are pretty much under $100 for a fancy pistol pete external one, internal under $50. That there tells me that the market share for burners have gone to the toilet. Side mount towers for burners
    Again just my opinion
