    i have no idea how to change the time in linux at the command prompt but i had a look around and found

    this the bottom section tells you how to setup ssh so you can start a x session. with your new gui it should be a piece of piss.

    Date Command

    Take a look there you can use that to change it. There are other several commands there so that should help you out. No need to get a gui for now just to change the time/date.
