I give an enthusiastic nod to Green Book. It's definitely one of those movies made to scoop up awards due to its social history theme, race relations, etc. Even with that, the movie moves along quickly, has good chemistry and dialog, makes the case for actually examining the theme, and ultimately feels pretty satisfying to watch. The acting was good (moreso on Mahershala Ali's side than on Viggo Mortensen's, imo-- although VM wasn't bad, he had so much makeup and prosthetic applied to him that they could have simply hired an actor who looked like they wanted instead of going so far with it...). Anyway, good movie with few negatives overall.
Seeing a comment like that makes me think that the Potato Farmer never visited New York or especially Brooklyn, or go further and say you never had any friends or spoke to anyone in person from that neck of the woods (You should try and play golf with them), Mortensen's acting was spot on and amazing..Plus i can say it had me in stitches throughout the whole movie, and flowed amazing (as you did say). It was defiantly in my tops for the year in movies, one everyone should not miss
The Golden State Killer
Sacramento, California.
In the late 1970s, the state capital was the epicentre of one of the most terrifying violent crime sprees in american history, and as the number of attacks against women continued to climb, police became certain that the same sexual sadist had been responsible for all of them. He would eventually become known as the East Area Rapist. Over time, his signature crimes became even more brazen and forced a community paralyzed by fear to wonder if he would ever be stopped.

Happened to be one of the very first to grab The Kid when it was posted on IPT. Seemed like a safe bet with Vincent D'Onofrio directing and writing, as well as a cast reuniting many of the recent Magnificent Seven. Unfortunately, the movie just lacks in everything that made MS work. The main story seems to get lost in itself, the actors seem more like they are there to help a buddy make his movie than really shine, and there's never really any time when the movie gets exciting. Overally, it wasn't completely bad, but with the talent involved it should have been *much* better. It current;y has a ~6.3 on IMDB, i believe it will settle closer to 5.5...
