OK now most of you will immediately jump towards the Dell but i have a prob.
THere are 2 laptops and they have the exact same specs, one is a dell and it has 4 year warranty/accidental damage, 64mb nVidia GeForce and 15 inch screen. The other is HP and it has 3 year warranty/accidental damage, 128mb nVidia GeForce and 17 inch screen. Both of them are around the same price. Which should I choose?

Does the HP happen to have an AMD Chip?

Just wondering, but yah, if your going for price, than the bigger screen and better graphics are just, well, better.

@John No it has Intel P4 3.06 w/ HT

The HP also has a 7 in one car reader

And HP is actually cheaper because i just customized a Dell w/ a 3 year warranty/accidental damage and it's $2,407 the HP is $2,398. If the Dell had a 4 year blah blah blah then it would cost $2,537. So I am definitley going to go HP.

Hey, I am not a Dell fanatic!
And I have no problem with HP. I just think that their design for laptops is rather ugly...

...I actually respect HP for being wise enough to use AMD microprocessors.

The only reason why Dell won't use any AMD processors is because they are so in cohoots with Intel that if they put any AMD parts then Intel will have a hissy fit and stop cutting Dell such good deals...HP has more flexibility there. And actually, right now I am steered away from the Dell laptops...primarily becuase they are not using the ATI mobility 9600. Right now Voodoo laptops are the best, IMO.

But I would recommend Dell's refurbished computers as a money saving method. Not "ultimate performance," either, that is for they system you build yourself...your baby... B)
