Thread: PeerBlock - anyone still use?

Anyone still use Peerblock? Waste of time or low level usefulness?

uTorrent and eMule both have ipfilter.dat support, so I just grab the monthly blacklist from emule-security.org and use that instead. But if you need centralized and/or system-wide IP blocking, PeerBlock remains a good option. Of course, you can also do it at the router level with iptables.

I didn't know about the ipfilter.dat support i wonder if qbit supports that. Cause it doesn't hurt using it for a added layer of protection.

Supports both ipfilter.dat and guarding.p2p formats. Note that as you said, it's just an extra layer, not bulletproof. Don't fall into the trap of adding every blocklist you can find to get "better" protection either.
