very few dvd burners can actually create HD-Burn CDs, but a lot of DVD-Roms actually have the potential to read them-- the manufacturers just need to modify the firmware to add read support.Originally posted by Agent Smith@27 November 2003 - 19:24
Thats hella dum only those people with that drive can read it. If you made a VCD it would not work.
so far, these are the dvd burner models i've been able to find, that can make HD-Burn CDs.
Optorite DD0203, DD0201, and DD0401
Sanyo CRD-BPDV2
MSI DR4-A and DR8-A
Plextor have a similar technology called GigaRec on some of their drives, but it only stretches an 80minute CD to about 1gb.
and increasing the capacity of a format through a more efficient disc layout is not "hella dum."
