    Lol .. you will have to talk to those turkeys and ask their opinion on the fake claim. If it's fake, it's one that the whole country bought into and the turkey's got punished for.

    Wild turkeys can fly - I see them do it daily.

    They roost in trees well off the ground, and while they are by no means marathon fliers, they can​ indeed fly.

    I've always been partial to, "The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement!"

    I remember laughing so hard at that whole segment (35+ years ago) that I had tears streaming down my face. I believe that line was what broke me.
