While I'm at it, RIP to one of the TRUE rock Gods, Neil Peart, the best fucking drummer who ever lived.

Music is more than just technical mastery. That said, rankings are always going to be part objective and part subjective so as long as both drummers are appreciated for their talent and the joy they brought to people then I'm more or less fine with whatever.

Idol: Your comments of rating the best drummers is interesting, really if you think about it Buddy Rich by far would be considered one of the best drummers of all time, yet Bonham i would think second, and the reason is for innovation, and understanding drumming...

Now Neil Peart (A great loss and rest his soul )yes being a great drummer for sure is not really considered a drummer per say, but a percussionists

Funny when you look at it and see Peart mimic really one of the greatest drummers of all time even live in concert his solo also

Bonham's kid is not his dad but still not bad..

You could even go as far as saying Chester Thompson is one of the best in the world, but really who is the innovator

    Again just my opinion

Rich doesn't qualify on the basis that Jazz isn't music.

Speaking of percussion, legend has it that the entire band was high as fuck on LSD.

If you take three foods(fries, cheese curds and gravy) that already exist and just mix them together did you actually invent something or are you more or less just cleaning off your plate?
