Thread: Downloaded NZB's are blank

  1. #1
When I execute an NZB that I downloaded from this site, it shows that the RAR’s are being downloaded. When I look into the download folder nothing is there, this has happened to me several times. I've been using Newshosting for many years so this one is new to me. Windows 10. Anyone have any ideas why?
    Thank you

Maybe the articles were taken down by the time you started the download? Your client's logs should tell you what's going on in any case.

I had downloaded the NZB from the XviD SD area, using Newshosting x64 program to D/L the RAR's. I have used the software for many years and have found it very reliable in the past. Yes, it could have been taken down but it wouldn't show the bits multiplying as they are being downloaded would it, or not? The only thing I have come up with is that the RAR's were taken down, I was thinking that I missed something because of Windows 10. I really hated giving up Windows 7.
    Thanks for the input...

    Hey TBoz

I am not familiar with the Newshosting program, but i will tell you that the way some of the uploads are done today have special obfuscation..

I can tell you without a doubt that it is not the operating system that is causing this issue, it is the program you are using to download the files....

I can only suggest that you try using a different program and see if you are getting the same results, i switched to SABnzb a while ago, after reading on private NZB sites that they are working with the programmers of SABnzb, especially with the obfuscation to slow down or eliminate take downs....

And yes other programs will download all the .rar files and then won't be able to put them together, so when it does try you get an error and loss of rar files.....

I would also think it could have been a firewall issue, but you said you did see the .rar files downloaded on your pc but just didn't extract properly??

Again i really disliked SABnzb compared to the older program i used to use, but, really you have no choice today.....

here is the link try it out and then let us know if that fixed the problem.....

    https://sabnzbd.org/

PS. You were kind of vague on what you were trying to download, i by no means trying to be nosy, but it would help if i knew what you were trying to download and i can test it out?? Yes i do use a different Usenet provider, but i want to see if it will extract??

As I said before, your client logs should help here And if you're really sure the files were downloaded and must be somewhere, you could search for them in your computer by name or date.

Greetings, I did use SABnzbd to D/L the video it didn’t D/L anything which makes me believe it was taken down. I was looking at Windows as the culprit but as it was pointed out that’s not the case. I am vague on naming the NZB because some site’s frown on when you post the name of the video or software. (Joker) I'm not sure where my client log would be. Thank you for your replies I now have a better picture of my dilemma.

I didn't ask for links or the actual NZB TBoz..

    Just the file name...

    Joker 2019 HDRip XviD AC3-EVO??

And your comment is completely inaccurate as well on "Take Downs" , it may be blocked from your Usenet provider, which in most cases is actually what happens...

And funny, you do notice an actual NZBs tab on this site right

And if that is the one you were looking for, i just downloaded (tested) it, i had no problem getting it, maybe a Usenet provider issue for you...

PS. If you didn't screw around with the default settings too much on SABnzb, the files or broken files are usually in the "Users > Downloads" directory, that is if you didn't delete the history file in the program??

Okay, thanks for all the useful help on my question, I'll continue to experiment with SABnzb and compare it with the Newshosting client that I have been using for many years. I'm leaning on the suggestion of a Usenet provider issue.
Once again thanks for the replies.
