jDownloader works, and can download everything - even the videos' audio track, subtitles and thumbnails.

    anon, do you recommend v2?

(...and haven't installed it yet, but how do you get around the ads?)

Absolutely. v1 isn't even supported anymore and can't download from a large amount of hosts.

As for the advertisements, it's been a while since I upgraded, but as I recall you needed to run the offline installer (link follows) and refuse all "offers" during the process. Then, in the advanced settings, you'll find the ability to hide the Uploaded.net banner, donation button and "get premium" link that shows up on captcha windows.

Truth be told, I don't use jdownloader as much anymore as I used to. Seems like a few years ago it was the only way to get fast/reliable access to grab stuff from download hosts. These days there seem to be more options available that let you download several files in parallel at decent speeds and including resuming in case the download gets interrupted. I honestly don't know the last time I had to rely on the program.

Well, I don't use an ad blocker, so jDownloader remains the only way to download from most hosts and retain my sanity in the process... especially for multi-part stuff. Those pop-unders are insane.

AdBlocker Plus and Ghostery work well with Firefox.
