Thread: Gift+kceasy: Multi-net Multi-search P2p Downloader

  1. #1
Can anyone try to build for me the Windows (98) binary for the giFT multi-net-protocol (open source) ?

Can it replace KL 2.6 ? It has multi-search and more goodies ...

Here are the links to the source & the KCeasy client for it :

    giFT:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/gift - sources

    KCeasy:

Finally I could make one, but the developers told me, to not give it to anyone, becouse the new versions are not very compoatibles with each others, but If somebody like to get it, email me!

But it's very unstable right now, so it's not the best idea now to use it, but good to see how it will work...

(There was a problem in the source with one icon, so I had to replace it...)

so if somebody interested in it write an email and I send the binary...

i´m using now, run better than kazaa , ITS FANTASTIC !

Only the interface, its too simple, its very usefull, but a more advanced gui its good !

In kazaa one file after some hours have 7 sources, all cheats, find more sources, search for the file...

In gift the Same file after 5 min, only 1 find more sources, have 12 sources, and the speed the double of kazaa, i love this !

Tnks tothbenedek, running like a charm

I was not so lucky ! I tried, for example, latest episode of "the west wing 5x09"
and got none! I was unable to "search more" indefinitely (like in KL/KLE) , so in case of "rare" files - it is no so good!

What GUI are you using ? KCeasy ?

If you'll find a GUI that can be setup to give more search time - let me know...

Yes for me it's did the same, (but it is true, when it started to search normally, it was more faster, than any other client I have seen). It have a reason, why haven't a binary officially published yet...

XNap v3 now has a gift plugin. it's java, nothing to compile.
ive used xnap 2.5 for opennap alot, but could never figure out the gift, overnet, or gnutella plugins.

yeah, in start have this too , you need to go in the local that you have instaled gift and look for giftd.conf , open with notepad and look for :
    Code:
    #  Protocol names are case sensitive, so use OpenFT, not Openft.
    #
    # For example, to use the OpenFT and Gnutella protocols use:
    #
    #  OpenFT:Gnutella
    #
    # Default: none
    #
    plugins = OpenFT
    Change to OpenFT:FastTrack or
    OpenFT:Gnutella:FastTrack

P.S, have a strang char in this line, not remove it !
