Thread: Free Site With Ftp Access?

1. #11
Here's one more for the record http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ I left Geocities because they dropped FTP from their free accounts.

Tripod Free Includes:
• Free website
• Free site building tool
• Easy to remember site name (yourname.tripod.com)
• Award winning Blog tool
• 20 Mb disk space
• 1 Gb of monthly bandwidth
• File management tools
• Ad supported

As far as I know, they still support FTP with their free accounts. I haven't used my account for a while, so I say for certain. As for a good free FTP, try Smart FTP, it's pretty nice and easy to use.

Just in case anyone else wants to know. Until Jan 1st you can register free at 1and1.com for 3 yrs free hosting...mysql,php,asp support etc. 500 megs space and 50 pop email addresses.

Only condition: US & Canada only.

Go get em'
Sounds good I.am, in reading the fine print though it sends you an email that you have to authenticate by phone. Do you use this service and if so, have you received any 'spam' calls?

Thanks for the info.

USE 1and1.com, its free for you people living in USA and CANADA. THIS OFFER CANNOT BE BEATEN (unless you can prove me wrong that is ). Pity i cant use it because i'm in the UK (those 1and1 ).

DON'T give them your home number, call from a phonebooth and wait there until you recieve a reply from them.

By the way anyone know of a phone message relaying service i can use to fool them into believeing i'm in the US?
