    ok. i just took them out. so now the speed is back to pc3200 rite?

    as long as only pc3200 ram is in there and correctly configured, yes

    yep, should be. there would almost certainly be some issue with you having the pc2100 ram in, its always better to have the ram matching the fsb

    ram matching the fsb?? hmmm... so pc3200 can go up to 3.2 gighz? hmm... maybe mine is just bad ram, cuz in bios, it says the max is 233. and 233x12 is only 2.8 something gighz

    FSB= Front Side Bus. the speed on the bus at the cpu, not the cpu itself.

    the speed of pc3200 is 200mhz, in ddr mode is 400mhz.
    so depends on what speed ur cpu bus is at.

    Livy, when you say when in DDR mode it is 400Mhz, isn&#39;t it always in DDR mode..or does it have to have 2 sticks running daul channel to be running at 400 Mhz?

    dual channel mode isn&#39;t ddr mode

    all ddr ram will only run in ddr mode

    what i meant was, the ram isinfact rated at 200mhz, but since it is ddr ram, its gives it an effective rate of 400mhz, or thats how i understand it
