What am I doing wrong. Can't seem to copy this movie (size is 716,654KB) to DVD because of file size. Attempted AVI to MPEG converter, but ended up with a 200KB larger. Help. Just started downloading movies and have no way of saving them to DVD. Many thanks.

what are you using to convert?
    try TMPGEnc!
I'm sure it won't be too big to fit on 4.7gb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    716654 KB = 699.857 MB = 0.6835 GB

you have plenty of room if you are using a standard 4.7 GB DVDR

Are you using a CD? the size you mentioned should easily fit on to a DVD-R disk.

If you want to reduce the size of the movie (mpeg format only), use the Mpeg Tools on tmpgenc to cut unneccessary bits out the movie to shorten it.

If it is in AVI format, you can Virtualdub to trim the end off the movie.

Converting from avi to mpeg usually increases the size of the file, so i wouldnt recommend it unless you want to view it on a dvd player.

    Use ACP from www.kvcd.net forum

and then use TMPEG DVD author from kazaa

then use Nero to burn...you can get 6 films at vcd quality, going down to 3 films at pretty damned good quality on 1 disk (eg Matrix Trilogy)

Easy CD/DVD creator 6 is the best it does it in 2 hrs usually and converts it to the right size
Those who dont learn from the past are doomed to repeat It.
