Thread: Transcoding Dring Me Mad

  1. #1
I've been trying to convert an XVID video to DVD and whatever I do I come across probs.

Tried using nero and video stream plays too fast!

tried using tmpgenc v2.59 and I get no sound!!

tried using power director and get audio but no video and power producer does nothing!!!

Can anyone please suggest a program that will easily convert this XVID avi to DVD (MPEG2 Format). This is driving me mad!

Thanx for the links, Encoding seperatley and bringing together in dvd authoring seems to do the trick.

One other thing though, if I re-encode the audio from AVI to AC3 the volume becomes much quieter than if encoding to Mp2 or wav. Is this normal? which format is best to put the audio onto dvd? Most DVD rips I have done have AC3 files??

I myself wouldn't recommend AC3 unless your burning it onto dvd-r otherwise just use the format which works best for you that been wav or mp2.

I do want to burn one copy to DVD-R but do I have to use AC3. Will it still work with a wav or mp2?

Yes it most probably would work with wav, mp2 but the quality wouldn't be awesome ac3 would use all your speakers, subwoofers etc . . But in wav , mp2 only your two main speakers would be churning out good quality sound.
