even if you could oc your non-pro to a pro (which you can't), you can oc the pro to higher than the pro (if you see what i mean)

i have my 9600 pro (default 400/600) at 520/610 (try doing that with the non-pro and you'll end up with an expensive paperweight (what a cliché ))

this link shows 500/620, but i did manage to get to 520 shortly afterwards

the tyan uses overclocked memory though...the memory used comes at 550MHz on the tyan, however, the company overclocks the memory itself before selling

other 9600 pro based cards do use 600MHz memory though
