    ook...I mean why have some files on one computer...and other files on another one..

    One for you, one for your sis and parents. You can also use the 2nd on to diagnose problems on the 1st one, as a backup computer, as a place to backup files, a server to test out router configurations etc etc.

    Why have a second puter?

    My old 300mhz Celeron is encoding movies all the time. Takes maybe 2 days if I'm doing a 352x480 cvd.

    Makes a good guinea pig. I used it to fool around with dual-booting. It now has Win98 and XP Pro on it.

    Came in so late on this thread but what's the advantage of putting Redhat on it and use it as a server? I have 2 puters connected via a Linksys router. What good things would result from making the 300mhz Celeron a server in my case? Curious.
