i bought a dvd drive and i really dont understand the manual because i already have a burner so the dvd drive is the secondry drive or the slave drive so can u guys give me a instructions on installing the dvd drive cuz i have no idea about this.

pull out all cables on the back of computer.
open the computer case.
find an empty drive bay.
put in the drive. fasten the screws.
connect the IDE cable.
connect the power cable.
connect the audio cable (if you have one, it's not needed)
put the computer case back on.
put all the cables back.
turn on the computer.
install DVD software.
play your movies.
piece of cake!

There is a jumper on the back (small black plastic pin).
Look in the manual which setting is slave.
Screw the DVD into your computer. Attach the IDE cable (flat cable) and power connector.
Done.

thanks guys i just want to know one more thing cuz i have a burner already installed the audio cable is already installed to the motherboard so i dont need to connect the audio cable thats coming from the dvd drive

i didnt install it yet cuz i still have to get the power dvd software but nobody answered my question about the audio cable.

Windows should automatically detect the drive. PowerDVD is simply a software player (like WMP and Divx Player) and will make no difference if the drive isn't detected and installed.

if its a modernish motherboard u dont need to connect the audio cable on any of your drives as it run through the motherboard curcuitry
