Update.
He was able to give a list of files and directories in the volume's root. I'm counting on that the "highly damaged areas" contain stuff I can just redownload.
Technician's notes: I'm working on your case, going through the mirroring process. I have managed to access the device's data area, and am currently mirroring the original device sector by sector on a new disk. This is the most important part, as recovery results are directly dependent on the mirroring percentage. I'm dealing with difficulties due to the severity of the damage, which causes the procedure to advance very slowly. I have also had to skip highly damaged areas in order to mirror them last. Once the entire device has been mirrored, the structural rebuilding and exploration process will begin.
By the way, I have looked for the request (Quick and Witty Comeback by Barron Cruz) but found nothing thus far. The homepage says it's a new course, so maybe no one's uploaded it yet; ThePlace.click may have it as they specialize on this stuff, but I'm not a member there.
