Thread: Self Storage Deal?

  1. #1
    Hello,

Have anyone heard of a self-storage discount deal or promotion? Looking to get some discounts. Please give some recommendations.
    TIA.

My advice would be to own as few things as possible.

What you should have added.... How the heck do you even respond to a vague question like that!!!

My advice was sincere, by the way. How much stuff do we have that we never use, but keep around "because it may be useful" or "just in case"? And how much of it actually gets used at all, if ever? Several years ago I realized the ratio was low and started getting rid of dead weight, by selling it, giving it away to people who really need it, or in the case of my CRT television, taking it to the sidewalk with a note that read "works great, good opportunity!" and less than an hour later it was gone Helps keep the home more manageable.

I agree, i have bins just full of Cables, PC/Audio/Video etc.. I got rid of 3 bins and it didn't make a dent..

Funny Anon just the accumulation of Tools/Hardware!!, that is a joke.. My son purchased a home, so he took quite a bit of the tools, still only a small dent...

I could go on and on, purging is a great idea and really it is smart, but not always that easy to part with things, and it has nothing to do with hoarding, it really is you just never know when you are going to need something, or better yet a friend of family member may need??

Funny anything and i mean anything i left at the curb, didn't need a note to take, and i mean UN-adulterated shit people took!!. But i say great, saved a trip to the dump and i assume i made someone happy

I call that a Mitzvah buddy....

But my point was how do you help a person looking for deals on physical storage?? Do you not assume that is a local thing?? That was more my point....

Sometimes people need temporary storage buddy, for multiple reasons, and not always just for hoarding.. Even know those guys on Storage Wars seem to make a good living because of it

Well, in your case you're beyond saving unless you use a woodchipper or just set everything on fire

Good point. When I read "self storage" I assumed it referred to physical storage, but maybe he's looking for deals on file hosting or similar, who knows.

As for Storage Wars, that show and its clones were always accused of being rigged and scripted. While that's very difficult to prove or disprove, I suggest treating it the same way as all other "reality" TV: fiction made for entertainment.

    I have storage off-site, waiting for a covid-break to have a rummie.

I use everything i have here, for real.

I don't trip over my golf clubs cuz I don't have any.

    I have everything else.

All my kids' hockey gear is in the storage waiting for the rummie.

Good to be seen, Shay, troo story.

I have been having lots of political conversations with immigrant Canadian truck-drivers lately.

They are outraged at our domestic political system.

You haven't lived 'til you've heard an Asian-Indian bitching about "cheating American Liberal bastards"...

Hope all's well with your mighty clan - Merry Christmas and here's hoping for a tolerable New Year for everybody.
