Well there's no easy games past the group stages, but I'd be happier playing Spain or Portugal early on. Both teams have a habit of doing badly on the big stage...whereas Germany and Italy nearly always do well.
I'd still rather not face the host nation so early.
Just look at the Italians in the last world cup.

I'd like to see England do well, I'd like to think they could win it, but I wouldn't back them, I'd rather get pissed with the money. There's no home and away legs here, three games in the group and that's it. They'll need two wins to get through.

Nice and exciting games.
Ah and in the end finals a last minute goal from the germans will decide.... as usual

Germany are in the "group of death" IMO. They'll need to improve on recent performances. The Czechs were from pool A, top seeds, Germany pool B, Latvia C, and Holland D. No easy games there.

i would like to think the so called mighty ENGLAND could go on and win it, but France could win it because of the class of the number one footballer, zinedine zidane, and the top striker in the world for me Thierry henry, and this coming from a liverpool fan who knows his own team would be garbage without the mikester. i just hope germany go out before final because their team is garbage compared to france. But ithink the final four will be portugal, italy, france and england. any of the four should win it. but saying that italy were garbage at the world cup. But they did lose to a really skill south korea team ha ha ha. It a shame turkey not be there as well because i thought they would have annhillated latvia.
But England meet france first and if not lose, could be a good omen to go on and win it, but i just got feeling france will go all the way and Zinedine can retire from international football on a high.

I think you may be right HF, but I'm heartened by France's performance at the world cup, no points, and no goals. Number two highlight, next to England knocking Argentina out.
