it would be the same as the current usb 2.0 you are looking at, as you would have a choice of what caddy u were looking at, you could either go for usb, usb 2.0 or firwire. so the transfer would be the same if u went for a usb 2.0 caddy

put it under your desk or something. like if u have a set of drawers on your desk, theres usually psace underneath them.
